16 of the world's best baristas will compete head-to-head in Coffee Masters, the fast-paced multi-disciplinary barista competition to be held over three days at The New York Coffee Festival. So it's only right that they have access to the very best coffees on offer — that's where our friends at The Good Roast by The Roasting Party come in.
They've been hard at work collaborating with farmers to source an amazing selection of coffees, incorporating top geishas, quirky processes, simple but delicious naturals and beautiful washed coffees.
But we can't let the contenders have all the pleasure, can we? Visit their booth and you too will be able to try some of these wonderful coffees, as well as The Good Roast's signature house blend prepared using a 2grp Linea PB by La Marzocco and a rotation of batch brewed single origins.
Take in the flavors and aromas whilst witnessing two exciting launches: the brand new Aillio 1kg Induction Roaster and the MOCU, a cup designed to enhance the coffee drinking experience by allowing for aeration and breathability. Drawing on wine glass geometry, with its wide bowl and tapered aroma collector, inventors MATO have taken what wine lovers have long known and applied it to coffee, to create the first cup design with serious coffee appreciation in mind.
Then, why not have a go at The Good Roast's Cupping Competition? Suitable for experts and novices alike, this multiple-choice competition will test your ability to understand taste profile, with the winner and 10 runners-up being announced after the festival. May the best man (or woman) win.
Don't forget to visit the Latte Art Live area where The Good Roast's barista and UK Latte Art Champion Dhan Tamang will be showing off his impressive skills at the following times:
Can't make those times? Fear not as Dhan will be at hand on The Good Roast's booth for the rest of the festival to teach you everything you need to know.
